The district is governed by a three-member Board of Directors elected by district residents, supported by the Office of the Chief.

District residents elect the three-member board. Each director serves a staggered six-year term, and the board meets weekly at the district administrative offices.
Board Meeting Schedule
The Board of Directors meets weekly. The specific date, time, and location are subject to change; please contact the administrative offices during office hours — Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, except holidays — at (314) 298-4400 for the most current information.
The first meeting of every month is a regular meeting where public comments, if any, will be heard. The remaining meetings are work sessions, and no public comments are heard during work sessions.
If you wish to be heard, submit a speaker's card to chief@mhfire.org no later than 7:00 AM on the date of the meeting you wish to speak.
