PUBLIC NOTICE FOR ELECTION OF ONE DIRECTOR OF THE MARYLAND HEIGHTS FIRE PROTECTION DISTRICT OF ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MISSOURI
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, pursuant to notice from the St. Louis County Election Board, and the Missouri Revised Statutes, the opening date for filing of applications for one six (6) year term of Director of the Maryland Heights Fire Protection District of St. Louis County, Missouri, to be elected at the biennial election of April 8, 2025, shall commence at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 10, 2024, and shall close at 5:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 31, 2024. Ballot order for persons filing shall be determined by order of filing, provided the following procedures are followed pursuant to resolution of the Board of Directors:
Any candidate and/or their representative must sign in and out on the specific form identifying their “position of order” to complete their Affidavit and Declaration of Candidacy. Candidates and/or their representative will be assigned the next open “position of
order” upon their arrival.
“Position of order” is determined on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Positions do not need to be maintained during business hours. Candidates are only required to sign in and establish their “position of order” each business day between business hours of 9:00 am –
3:00 pm, Monday-Friday. Once a candidate’s daily position of order is established for the day, their position of order will remain the same until the next business day given the candidate is present the next business day at 9am to reaffirm their order number.
At 9:00 am each business day, the “position of order” will be affirmed and established as to those present. Any candidate or their representative not present will forfeit their previous business day’s position (if established) and be assigned the next open position.
Weekends are not business days.
The hours for filing on December 11, 2024, through December 30, 2024, are weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The hours for filing on December 10, 2024, are 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The hours for filing on December 31, 2024, are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Contact District headquarters for holiday schedule.
Qualifications for the position of Director of the Maryland Heights Fire Protection District of St. Louis County, Missouri, are that the candidate be a resident and voter in the District for a period of one (1) year preceding the election and be over the age of twenty-four (24) years. Candidates are hereby notified that they are required to file a statement under oath that the candidate possesses the
required qualifications under law, and an affidavit with the Department of Revenue (Form 5120) regarding any tax delinquency and bonding requirements. See Section 115.342, RSMo.
Candidates should file their statement under oath containing the above qualifications, together with a filing fee of fifty ($50.00) dollars, with the Maryland Heights Fire Protection District’s Election Official, or their designate, at the District’s headquarters, 2600 Schuetz Rd., Maryland Heights, Missouri 63043. The District headquarters is the sole filing place for this candidacy. After 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 31, 2024, no application shall be accepted.
